Born in Mexico City, in 1977, artist Raúl Cerrillo studied at the School of Visual Arts La Esmeralda, the Institute of Visual Arts in Puebla and took courses in painted glass art in Wheaton Village, in the United States.
Cerrillo’s solo exhibitions have gone to Mexico City, Monterrey, and Puebla. His pieces have been shown in group exhibitions in Italy, and the United States.
He was awarded the Acquisition Prize in the Plastic Association of the San Pedro Garza García contest, the Foescap 2005-2006 scholarship in Puebla, and the Acquisition Prize for Contemporary Art in 2004, also in Puebla.
Cerrillo was also selected for the Youth Art National Award in 2001 and 2004, and had FONCA scholarship in 2002 and 2003. He currently works and lives in Monterrey, Nuevo León.
